Recipe: Silver Dollar City’s Wassail Recipe

Silver Dollar City’s wassail has been an iconic part of the park’s annual Christmas celebration, and now you can make the traditional English Yuletide drink at home!

SDC Wassail Recipe

Makes 1/2 Gallon (2 Quarts).

Ingredients

  • 5 Cups Apple Cider
  • 3 Cups Orange Juice
  • 1 1/2 Ounces Lemon Juice
  • 1 Ounce Pineapple Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar (optional)
  • 2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 3-4 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Tablespoon Whole Clove
  • 1 Orange, sliced

Garnish, Per Glass (Optional)

1/2 Orange Slice
1 Whole Clove
1 Cinnamon Stick

Directions

Combine apple cider, orange juice and pineapple juice in 3-quart sauce pan on medium high heat. Add ground cinnamon and whisk until combined. Add cinnamon sticks, whole clove & orange slices. Bring to simmer and serve.

Serving Instructions

Serve in heat safe glass and garnish with cinnamon stick, whole clove, and half an orange slice on the rim.

Storage Instructions

Wassail may be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Reheating Instructions

Place prepared wassail in saucepan on medium high heat until desired serving temperature is reached.

Slow Cooker Instructions

Combine apple cider, orange juice and pineapple juice in slow cooker. Add ground cinnamon and whisk until combined. Add cinnamon sticks, whole clove, and orange slices. Cook on low heat for 4 hours or high heat for 2 hours. Serve.
