Branson Christmas Light Displays 2018

Venturing around town to see all the homes and businesses decked out in thousands of colorful twinkling lights is a favorite Christmastime activity in Branson.

This year, there are three immersive drive-through light displays that welcome guests from dusk until late-night — perfect for the after-show crowd!

Let There Be Lights at Promised Land Zoo

Branson’s Promised Land Zoo is home to the area’s newest and longest drive-through light display. Two two-mile display is open nightly beginning Nov. 3. The Zoo is also home to the region’s only live reindeer herd, giving patrons the opportunity to pet, feed, and take photos with the Sven, Rudolph, Prancer, and more. The onsite Christmas village also includes a petting zoo with living nativity animals, visits with Santa, and a Christmas shop with seasonal items.

Branson’s Gift of Lights

Branson’s Gift of Lights drive-through display debuted in 2015 but its location off Shepherd of the Hills Expressway is the same as the former Festival of Lights, which was held there for almost 25 years prior.

Branson’s Gift of Lights, operated by Attraction Management Group, contains more than 300 displays with over one million twinkling LED lights throughout the 1.2 mile drive. Indianapolis-based Winterland, Inc. designed and assembled the lighted creations.

The Trail of Lights at Shepherd of the Hills

Home to the famous outdoor theatre, the 160-acre Shepherd of the Hills Homestead transforms into a holiday paradise, complete with a 230-foot-tall Christmas tree (otherwise known as the Inspiration Tower). Rated by the Travel Channel as one of the top five drive through Christmas displays in the U.S., the Trail of Lights features a series of story-telling animated characters surrounded with millions of Christmas lights.

DATES OF OPERATION: Nov. 1 – Dec. 31
HOURS: 5:30 to 11 p.m. (or later as traffic dictates)
PRICE: $8 per person if purchased online in advance ($12 at gate) or $29 per car load in advance ($35 at gate). Admission includes a trip to the top of the Inspiration Tower and a cup of hot chocolate/cider.

Silver Dollar City

While not a drive-through display, Silver Dollar City is decked out in over 6.5 MILLION lights during the annual An Old Time Christmas festival. The theme park — styled as an 1880s mining city — continually receives recognition for its incredible illuminated displays, 1,000 decorated trees, two Broadway-style Christmas shows, a five-story LED special effect Christmas tree, Rudolph’s Holly Jolly Christmas light parade, thrilling amusement rides, festival foods, and more.
