The 2018 Christmas season may have ended less than a month ago, but Silver Dollar City (SDC) today already announced an impressive new addition for the the 2019 season.
An all-new 80-foot-tall, state-of-the-art Christmas tree will debut in November as the centerpiece to the “Joy on Town Square” area.
The $1.5 million custom-designed tree soars eight stories into the night sky and will feature hundreds of thousands of “dancing” high-resolution lights. Together with other illuminated trees and structures on Town Square, over one million LEDs will combine color, music, light, and animated imagery.
This new tree is a significant improvement over the iconic five-story tree from years past, which experienced a number of technical errors throughout the past season. In addition, the new tree will have a more natural appearance with individual branches instead of a smooth cone-like shape.

SDC officials are working with S4 Lights in Atlanta, Ga., calling them leaders in “architainment” technology for the global amusement and Christmas industries.
“Town Square is the entry portal where guests step into a holiday wonderland. With this stunning icon, the traditions and legacy of Silver Dollar City will meet state-of-the-art technology,” said Brad Thomas, president of Silver Dollar City Attractions.
“Joy on Town Square will be another ‘must-see’ attraction, making an even bigger & brighter nationally-acclaimed event.”
This new addition follows the 2017 debut of the major “Christmas in Midtown” light spectacular. That area alone features a stunningly bright 1.5 million LED lights, bringing the park’s total to over 6.5 million twinkling lights.
