Miracle of Christmas returns to Sight & Sound Theatres this season

Sight & Sounds Theatres — known for their awe-inspiring productions of biblical stories — will bring their Miracle of Christmas show back to the Branson stage this season.

Appearing for the first time here since 2017, the two-hour and 17-minute production depicts the full Christmas story, from the Angel Gabriel’s appearance to the birth of Jesus to the visitation of the three wise men.

The script was developed in-house by Sight & Sound in 1996 and features over 45 actors who perform vocals live on stage, backed by an original musical score by Tom Howard combining original songs and holiday classics.

“Miracle of Christmas” is a dazzling production in itself, featuring 70 set pieces, dramatic special effects, and 405 costumes (requiring over 60 loads of laundry each week!). Sight & Sound prides itself on custom-producing almost all set pieces and costumes in-house at both their Lancaster, Penn. and Branson facilities.

A full cast of live animals housed onsite add a dramatic realistic feel to the production. These include camels, donkeys, llama, white Arabian horses, goats, sheep, pigeons, macaws, geese, flying flocks, lamb, and more.
